About

Flictions is an experiment exploring connections between language in literature with language on Twitter. Each text page features a quote from a work of literature juxtaposed with a sidebar of tweets that include a word or phrase found in the quote.

The tweets to the side of each quote are a live feed, so on any given day some pages work better than others—depending on what people are tweeting.

Check the menu links for various ways to find your way around. You can step through all the texts using the “next” arrow if you like but the random link (the dice) or following a theme via the tags might be more interesting ways to get around. You can also view all the texts from a book via the sources link.

It’s a work in progress and there will be more texts over time.
